
Corporate governance codes
As a UK and Hong Kong listed company, HSBC is required to comply with the listing rules and corporate governance codes in both these markets.
Details of HSBC’s compliance with the applicable provisions of the UK Corporate Governance Code and the requirements of the Hong Kong Corporate Governance Code, subject to the exceptions disclosed, can be found on page 310 of the Annual Report and Accounts 2022 (PDF 7MB)
HSBC also has a listing, through an American Depository Receipt (ADR) programme, on the New York Stock Exchange. This requires HSBC to disclose any significant ways in which its corporate governance practices differ from those followed by US companies subject to the New York Stock Exchange listing standards.
