We deliver exceptional customer journeys, enable growth and increase efficiency across the entire Wholesale ecosystem. We connect strategy to action; delivering value through deep institutional knowledge, intelligent design and delivery of end-to-end solutions. We leverage digital capabilities and implement innovative technologies.

Our rotational graduate programme opens up a world of opportunities, providing you with a breadth of experience at a global scale, along with the training and development to equip you with the core skills needed to progress your career.

What will you do?

During your programme induction and initial training, you will learn about the different areas of Commercial Banking and Global Banking before embarking on a series of six-month placements.

Placement rotations exist across Strategic Transformation Programmes, Digital Change, Customer Experience, Business Process Reengineering, and each of the core departments which form the Wholesale Chief Operating Office, providing you with a broad understanding of the bank.

Working as part of a team, you will apply your analytical skills across a variety of situations. This could include defining and validating business problem statements, shaping business outcomes and associated routes to achieving them, as well as driving key change activities.

Life on the Strategic programme (duration 1:42) Kieran moved from our Internship to our Strategic Graduate Programme. He is learning about HSBC first-hand as he rotates between different teams, such as the digital team where he helped deliver cutting-edge new features for customers.

Who does this suit?

We are looking for highly adaptable, driven, creative individuals with strong communication and analytical skills, to join the team and help shape the future of Commercial Banking and Global Banking.

We are looking for dedicated, collaborative and motivated people who are:

  • Agile workers. You will work in a fast-paced environment where everything evolves very quickly. You’ll maintain momentum by promoting agile working and ensuring we constantly deliver for our clients
  • Analytical thinkers. You’ll need a good eye for detail, a creative mind for analysing trends, and the courage to adopt new analytical methods
  • Team players. We collaborate by listening to new ideas, as well as voicing our own, in order to deliver and develop the best service for our clients
  • Keen problem solvers: Ability to see the wood for the trees, synthesise new information and make sensible assumptions to enable a path forward
  • Map makers not map readers: Able to recognise where new and emerging techniques may be applicable to traditional industries
  • Sociable networkers: An effective communicator with an active social role you will put our customers at the heart of everything you do

What can this lead to?

The graduate programme will help you determine where in our business your skills and passions fit best, once the programme has ended. Whether you choose a career in digital transformation or specialise in business management, you will have support along the way to help you develop your career at HSBC.
