Our Hong Kong insurance business has been recognised for its “market leadership”, “product innovation” and continued focus on the needs of customers.

HSBC Life (International) Limited was named Life Insurance Company of the Year at this month’s 24th Asia Insurance Industry Awards. It’s the first time since 2007 that a Hong Kong insurer has won the top category.

HSBC Life’s Eldercare Programme was also named Innovation of the Year in recognition of its efforts to raise public awareness about the cost of eldercare to society and support families affected by dementia, through market-first products.

‘Deeply honoured’

With wealth growing rapidly in Asia, and the number of elderly people rising, there is an increasing need for products that help people plan for the future and ensure their families are looked after.

Caring for caregivers

With people living longer than ever, societies and individuals need to prepare for the growing cost of care.

Our insurance offering in Hong Kong has been transformed over the past three years, with an emphasis on increasing access to customers through investments in digital. We’re about halfway through that programme.

Edward Moncreiffe, Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, HSBC Life, said: “Our commitment to offer more and better services and products to customers has never wavered even during this year of unprecedented challenges.

“We are deeply honoured to be named ‘Life Insurance Company of the Year’ and I would like to thank our people for their great support and perseverance to continue to meet the needs of our customers.”

Asia’s age challenge

As demographics shift, the insurance industry must adapt to help people plan for the future, says HSBC’s Alistair Chamberlain.
