If you want to be challenged, to be able to work internationally, to develop wide career experiences and gain cultural exposure, then HSBC is the bank for you

I have been in varied roles and my current role is that of Relationship Director for the London Central Corporate group. I am responsible for relationships with corporate clients with turnovers between GBP100 million and GBP350 million. This involves me developing relationships with prospective customers as well as existing customers. The role encompasses a range of skills ranging from relationship management, managing credit, collaborating with colleagues and mitigating risk among others. These were all skills I used in my previous roles but now I am applying them to larger customers with more complex needs.

I travel internationally to meet with management teams of prospective customers. This emphasis on joining up local colleagues and local management with global oversight is one of the strengths of HSBC.

When I was on my graduate programme I led a team of 14 other graduates and together we raised over £215,000 for a variety of great charities. I have also been a Climate Champion, undertaking volunteering activities and raising awareness internally on the importance of environmental sustainability and climate change. This is one of the things that I really like about HSBC. It helps you put back into the causes in which you believe.

While I work hard I still have time for a social life – normally involving a film or the latest box set – or playing 11-a-side and 5-a-side football.
