A Wealth Technical Manager

I work closely with advisers and specialists across the bank to support our clients who often have complex needs. It’s never one-size-fits-all. I help find the answers to specific queries related to inheritance tax, estate planning and retirement, making sure everything is aligned so our recommendations work seamlessly.
What I love most is the people. I meet colleagues all over the bank who are brilliant at what they do, and we all bring something different to the table. I might not always have the answer straight away, but I always know who to call. Our expert network makes all the difference to our clients.
A career built on curiosity and support
I joined HSBC as a cashier straight from school, thinking I’d be stamping cheques. But within months I’d secured bank-funded qualifications, including a diploma and a degree. The bank’s belief in me and their investment in my future changed the course of my career.
Over the years, I’ve worked across Mortgages, Premier and Wealth, and every move has added something new to my skillset.

I left the bank at one point to focus on my growing family, but during that time, I really missed the people and the culture here. When I returned as a part-time Wealth Manager, I was balancing work and a young family, and the flexibility here made that possible.
In my current role, I work part-time in a job share, which has been fully supported by the bank. That kind of backing makes a huge difference when you’re raising children and growing a career.
Now, four months into this role, I’m loving the challenge. It’s fast-paced collaborative and when it clicks, and we help a client see the full picture, it’s the best feeling.
