The biggest lesson for me is never about technology, it’s the people around me.
Technology has transformed enormously over the last few decades.
I'm lucky enough to grow alongside that.
Every time when there's something new there’s opportunity to learn and change the way we do things.
Someone once told me that you can be the best but you’re not going to make a big impact unless you take your team with you.
That has completely changed the way I lead.
HSBC has given me so many opportunities to grow throughout my career.
Now I want to make sure that I create those opportunities for people around me.
Being a leader doesn’t mean that I have to have all the answers myself.
It's about creating space for people around me to grow, to contribute and also become leaders themselves.
After 23 years, I'm still learning, still growing and still excited about the next challenge.
Today, I have the honour of leading China Technology Centre from Guangzhou, the city where I grew up.
As the seventh general manager of the centre, I'm the first one who was born and raised in the city, and this feels really special to me.
