Russell Jackson

Russell Jackson assumed the role of Group Head of Internal Audit with effect from 3 June 2025. He is a standing attendee of the Group Operating Committee.

Russell joined HSBC in 2023 as Group Head of Enterprise Risk, where he made a significant impact on the Group’s risk management and control framework. He simplified the Risk Management Framework and partnered with, and challenged, the businesses on areas of strategic and emerging risk.

Prior to joining HSBC, Russell was Chief Executive Officer of Fnality Services, an electronic payments business. He previously held a range of risk and regulatory roles at the Bank of England and Prudential Regulation Authority, where his responsibilities included supervising several large banking institutions. He also developed regulation across many aspects of the financial system, including market infrastructure, payments, banking prudential and conduct requirements, corporate governance, resolution planning, and operational risk and resilience.

Russell holds a bachelor’s degree in politics from Kingston University London.
