What you can expect
You will gain an introduction to one of the most dynamic areas of our business. We drive the growth of our clients’ businesses through a balance of generating trust and analysing markets in order to raise capital. Whether you are in Corporate Banking or Investment Banking you will be involved in exciting projects that will give you an insight into how determination, courageous decision-making and logical thinking are essential to our work and how these businesses work collaboratively together. You will learn about the products and services we offer across our international network and connect with supportive colleagues in multiple areas. With their help and guidance, and some formal training, you will build your strengths so you can drive your development further.
Global Liquidity and Cash Management is an exciting environment servicing the full range of HSBC clients from small local businesses to large corporates, other banks and governments spanning the globe. Here, you will gain insight into how our colleagues work together to meet client needs; supporting them in optimising their cash flows, providing greater security, at a lower cost. You will learn how treasury functions look to optimise capital management, manage their surplus cash, optimise interest earnings, and manage global payables, receivables and everything in between.
What you will do
In Corporate Banking, you will gain first-hand experience of how our relationship managers, working closely with our product specialists, create innovative solutions to meet the banking needs of our largest corporate and institutional clients. You will have the opportunity to understand how we build sustainable trusted relationships with our clients, gain a great overview of the breadth of products HSBC can offer and see how we respond to our clients’ need by deploying these products into tailored solutions across multiple countries. You will learn how we can incorporate Environmental, Social and Governance into our client solutions, ranging from sustainable supply chains to raising green bond. You will also see how we help the bank manage the risk inherent in our business ranging from credit, reputational to financial crime.
As intern in Investment Banking, you will get a taste of how we work and advise our clients to support them achieving their long-term strategic goals. Working alongside senior team members and industry experts, you will develop and deepen your skills and financial knowledge and get a broad overview of the different activities and products offered by HSBC globally. You will work in team on a number of tasks including modelling, pitch books and other workstreams related to the execution of projects for our clients.
Your time here will be challenging and you’ll gain a breadth of experiences and gain a good understanding of what we do, from debt and equity capital raising, advisory, corporate lending, leveraged finance, real assets and structured finance, real estate, infrastructure, project and export finance.
Within Global Liquidity and Cash Management, you will build expertise in product development, business management, risk management, and sales, working alongside senior leaders and peers who are always willing to support you. Whether you know where you want your career to take you or not, Global Liquidity and Cash Management opens a world of opportunities with exposure to large international clients and dynamic projects. You can take on the kind of responsibility you may never have experienced before. In this internship, you will receive a thorough understanding of the opportunities available and a genuine sense of what life as an HSBC graduate would be like.
