HSBC Life wins global insurance award
Our insurance business – HSBC Life – has won its first ever global award after being named by Euromoney as the World’s Best Insurance Provider for Wealth Management.
Euromoney’s Private Banking Awards 2026 ranked more than 350 financial institutions across six continents.

“This award is a strong testament to our ability to capture international demand for wealth preservation and wealth transfer,” said Edward Moncreiffe, CEO of HSBC Life.
“We achieved this by leveraging our trusted brand, fortress balance sheet, innovative products, deep underwriting capacity, robust partnership network, and close customer relationships.”
What Euromoney said
“HSBC Life has built a specialist high- and ultra-high-net-worth (HNW / UHNW) insurance franchise that now sits at the centre of many private bank wealth plans, combining balance sheet strength with product innovation and genuinely global distribution reach,” Euromoney wrote in its results coverage.
“Over the review period it deepened partnerships with private banks, brokers and wealth managers, scaled its jumbo‑case capabilities and broadened its booking footprint across key hubs, while keeping average ticket sizes firmly in the HNW space.
“At the core is a clear strategic focus: HSBC Life is not a mass‑market insurer dabbling in wealth, it is a HNW specialist built around legacy, liquidity and estate‑planning needs.”
Other award wins
As well as HSBC Life’s award, we were recognised as the best bank in a range of categories, including:
- Best International Private Bank in the Middle East
- Asia’s Best for Premier Banking
- Asia’s (and Hong Kong’s) Best for Succession Planning
- The Best International Private Bank in China, the Philippines, India and Singapore
- Best Private Bank and Best for Chief Investment Office in Hong Kong
- Best Bank for High Net Worth in Mexico
Insurance growth
Macroeconomic factors, including ageing demographics and market volatility, have positioned insurance as a key solution for growing, protecting and transferring wealth across generations.
HSBC Life serves HNW and UHNW clients globally, providing innovative products and solutions that optimise for legacy planning.
Last year our total insurance revenue increased by 35%, with demand for HNW solutions in Asia being a core driver.
During the award review period, HSBC Life issued ‘jumbo’ policies valued at more than US$10 million to clients from 24 different Asian markets. The business was recognised with a Guinness World Record in 2024 for its jumbo capability.
“By playing across the wealth continuum, and leveraging our strengths across advisory, insurance and asset management, HSBC is uniquely placed to help clients to transfer their wealth to their next generation,” said Edward.
