We’ve launched HSBCnio, a digital solution that aims to deliver simpler, more connected banking for corporate and institutional clients by combining transaction banking services and AI tools.

Clients can engage with the solution through web and mobile, connecting their systems directly, or by using AI tools to access authorised banking information.

Amber Henderson-Smart, Global Head of Client Connectivity, GPS, HSBC, said: “HSBCnio is designed around the way our clients run their businesses, giving them one digital solution with multiple ways to bank based on their preferences.

“The new solution brings transaction banking capabilities into the channels and workflows that clients use today, while helping them integrate AI through secure, permissioned access to their banking information.”

HSBCnio was launched at Sibos 2026 in Miami, Florida, where thousands of people from across financial services came together to discuss the industry’s most-pressing issues. This year’s event, held from 28 September to 1 October, had a particular focus on digital finance for AI-driven economies.

Technology is a core enabler of HSBC’s global strategy and it’s how we’ll help our customers – and our colleagues – thrive in the next era of global finance.

Amber added: “AI is core to the design of HSBCnio and supports HSBC’s ambition to build a bank for the future by embedding AI solutions that benefit our clients.

“We are investing in the technology and platforms needed to serve customers more effectively, enabling them to compare products more quickly and explore a wider range of options.”

Services available for HSBCnio clients include:

  • Checking cash balances and transactions
  • Tracking payments
  • Arranging trade loans and foreign exchange services

HSBCnio enables clients’ own AI tools to access authorised account and transaction information through HSBC’s Model Context Protocol. This helps clients introduce AI into treasury workflows using trusted data, established permissions and appropriate controls.

We plan to add more transaction banking capabilities and AI-enabled experiences to HSBCnio over time. These include ‘Ask HSBC’, an AI-enabled feature designed to help clients query and interpret their banking information.
