Frequently asked questions

An apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to work full-time and earn while you study for your degree. It allows you to apply your learnings from your studies to a real-world environment, enabling you to focus on your academic and professional development at the same time.

It can be hard work at times, but you are fully supported by your manager, HSBC development advisor, university lecturers and a dedicated external skills coach. You will also get agreed time away from your role to complete your academic studies.

This will depend on the programme you are applying for. This information is included in the detailed programme descriptions that you’ll find in the apply section of the website when applications open.
