The role of HSBC Operations, Services and Technology (HOST) is to:
Run and deliver customer operations and help manage change in the bank
Develop software and applications that underpin HSBC’s banking systems
Manage IT systems, infrastructure and support
Implement major strategic change programmes
Provide professional services such as procurement and real estate management
HOST is made up of five connected groups:
Global Operations is responsible for activities including:
Managing the day-to-day transactions of our Retail Banking and Wealth Management business
Running operations for our Commercial Banking business and supporting our Global Private Banking and Global Banking and Markets businesses to serve customers across their global networks
Simplifying the way we run HSBC, introducing automation to reduce workload and costs and improve the experience of customers
Helping to drive change for the bank’s global businesses and functions, for the benefit of HSBC and our customers
Our Global Operations teams are based both in the countries in which we operate and in large Global Service Centres located in India, China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Poland.

Corporate Real Estate
Corporate Real Estate manages HSBC’s property portfolio for the benefit of our businesses, employees and customers.
We are responsible for an international network of around 3,900 offices in 67 countries and territories.
We play an important part in HSBC’s growth, managing everything from data centres, offices, and express banking and retail outlets to residences, including owned and leased property. We help make sure that customers and colleagues on HSBC premises benefit from a safe and well-managed physical environment.
Global Procurement plays a fundamental role in the day-to-day provision of goods and services for the HSBC Group. Our primary focus is to deliver commercial value through all areas of procurement worldwide. We work closely with other parts of HSBC to provide leadership of the bank’s third-party supplier relationships.
