I chose the Commercial Banking Global Graduate Programme because it offers an accelerated path to a career in corporate banking

One of the biggest challenges in my role is the fast pace and complex nature of my work. It is also one of the highlights.

Since joining HSBC, I have become much more determined to succeed and go the extra mile than when I was a student. The training is structured to make you a future leader of the bank and that is my ambition. I am learning how ideas are respected here and that gives me the opportunity to prove myself. I want to grow in the bank, and my manager supports my career aspirations.

When I started as a trainee I was thinking of becoming a Relationship Manager. I have shifted my focus and I now help the Business Banking group in formulating and implementing strategy. I prepare and brief my manager on different strategic initiatives and how they will impact the business. I get experience of both local and group-wide initiatives. It’s really helping to prepare me for a long-term career at the bank.
