I have lived in Hong Kong for almost all of my life. Hong Kong, to me, is a very fast-paced city.
I take a tram to work every day, and it takes me about 45 minutes. Some people may wonder why I take such a slow transport given that I can take the MTR within 30 minutes. I like the tram because when I get on the tram I can look at the scenery outside and also I can observe people getting on and getting off. I feel that I am more connected to the city, and I feel I am part of Hong Kong as well.
I work at the HSBC main building, which is in Central. Central is the busiest part of Hong Kong. It is the busiest commercial hub of the city.
The part I like about my job is working with different people in different departments. When I tell my friends and family that I work for HSBC, they all feel very happy because HSBC is the leading bank in Hong Kong. It is a well-known brand and it has a very good reputation in Hong Kong here.
What would I say to attract people? I would tell them that HSBC puts people's strength into good use. I feel that my capabilities are put to good use here and that they cherish diversity.
My name is Derek. I work for the Customer Propositions team for HSBC Premier.
