HSBC Bank plc opened a branch in Brussels in November 1999 as part of a pan-European initiative to meet the payments and cash management requirements of our global and regional corporate and institutional clients.
Belgium remains an attractive location for European corporate treasury operations in view of the taxation advantages available to Belgian co-ordination centres.
Global Payments and Cash Management
HSBC in Belgium offers a comprehensive range of domestic and regional cash management services and solutions to top-tier Belgian corporates and subsidiaries of foreign multinationals.
HSBC enjoys indirect access to Belgium's high- and low-value payments and clearing systems, Ellips and CEC, respectively, and direct access to TARGET and SWIFT, providing clients with the most efficient routes for making domestic and cross-border payments.
In addition to the more traditional range of account and transaction services, all of which are delivered via Hexagon, the HSBC Group's electronic banking system, the Brussels branch is able to offer more complex liquidity management solutions, including pooling and cash concentration (subject to legal and regulatory constraints).
A dedicated help desk has been established in London to act as a single point of contact for our global payments and cash management clients for all day-to-day issues and queries, and to support the office in Brussels. The London European Payments Operation works in close partnership with the team in Brussels to ensure the delivery of a consistent and high-quality service to our top-tier corporate clients across Europe.
Personal Banking facilities are not available at this branch.
