Corporate governance codes

HSBC is committed to high standards of corporate governance.

During 2019, HSBC complied with the applicable provisions of the UK Corporate Governance Code and the requirements of the Hong Kong Corporate Governance Code, subject to the exceptions disclosed on page 218 of the Annual Report and Accounts 2019.

HSBC must also disclose any significant ways in which its corporate governance practices differ from those followed by US companies subject to the New York Stock Exchange listing standards. This information is disclosed on pages 359 and 360 of the Form 20-F for the year ended 31 December 2019.
