Wholesale Strategic Internship

The Wholesale Chief Operating Office, which is where our Strategic Internship Programme is based, is a talented team of around 7,000 colleagues. They work in a variety of middle and back-office roles to support the frontline activities of our Commercial Banking and Global Banking businesses. Together, we deliver the best digital and business solutions, playing an integral part in creating a bank fit for the future by transforming how we serve our customers and colleagues.

The Wholesale Strategic Internship programme is for students from all degree backgrounds who are interested in applying their analytical skills across a variety of situations. This could include understanding root cause analysis for business problems, defining business outcomes and associated routes to achieving them, as well as driving key change initiatives.

Requirements: You will have achieved or will be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 Degree classification / 3.2 GPA or higher or overseas equivalent to this. You will be UK nationally mobile. Be fluent in English.

Overview

Our Wholesale Chief Operating Office teams partner with all areas of our Commercial Banking and Global Banking businesses, playing an integral part in creating a bank fit for the future by transforming how we serve our customers. We deliver exceptional customer journeys, enable growth and increase efficiency across the entire Wholesale ecosystem. We connect strategy to action; delivering value through deep institutional knowledge, intelligent design and delivery of end-to-end solutions. We leverage digital capabilities and implement innovative technologies.

This internship is for individuals who are interested to get a taste of what it’s like to work in our Wholesale Teams through a broad range of experiences. This could range from Transformation Initiatives, Digital Change, Business Process Reengineering, Innovation, or one of the core departments that make up our Chief Operating Office.

What you will do

During the internship, you’ll take part in a range of activities, projects and networking events. After an induction, where you will learn about our business, culture and how we operate, you will join one of our Wholesale Teams, which include Strategic Transformation Programmes, Digital Change, Customer Experience, Business Process Reengineering, or one of the core departments that form the Wholesale Chief Operating Office.

You will be part of a team that will allow you to develop your analytical skills in various fields. You will collaborate with senior leaders and colleagues to contribute to real business challenges and activities.
