What does it mean to “be yourself” at work? As HSBC shows its support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality, colleagues from across the bank talk about what it means to them to be open and honest about who they are.

“In some places you’ve had to sort of try and pretend to be something you are not,” says Adam. “And it is just the pride to stand up and say ‘yes, I am gay and I don’t mind telling people that’.”

“I think when you are being your authentic self at work you are not really thinking about it,” says Sarah.

“I can just be who I am,” adds Steven.

The bank supports diversity and inclusion, and aims to provide a working environment where everyone can achieve their full potential.
