It is imperative that we understand the root causes of each and every crisis so that lessons can be learned and steps taken to prevent recurrence, according to Douglas Flint, HSBC Group Chairman. Speaking at the Institute of Business Ethics in London, Mr Flint said that the most important word was ‘confidence’ and there was no model, no proven recipe to recover or improve confidence – which is essential to economic recovery.
