James Hughes-Hallett was appointed to the Board in 2005. He has a background in financial accounting and management experience in aviation, insurance, property, shipping, manufacturing and trading businesses in the Far East, UK, USA and Australia.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government awarded him the Silver Bauhinia Star in 2004. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Mr Hughes-Hallett is chairman of John Swire & Sons Limited; a non-executive director of Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and Swire Pacific Limited; a trustee of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation; and a member of The Hong Kong Association and the Governing Board of the Courtauld Institute of Art.
He was previously a non-executive Director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.
