We provide financial contributions to community projects, and thousands of employees across the world get involved by volunteering their time and sharing their skills.

HSBC donations by region in 2014

In 2014, we donated USD113.9 million to charities and non-profit organisations running community projects around the world. Employees gave 303,922 hours of time to volunteer during working hours.

HSBC has partnerships with some of the world’s leading charities, both large and small. A number of these relationships have been in place for more than a decade, enabling funding for long-term programmes which can result in real change. For example, our work with WWF to protect the Yangtze River basin began in 2002.

We believe that education and natural resources – such as fresh water – are essential to resilient communities. This guides the way we allocate donations and develop our global programmes.
