I have always viewed HSBC as a leading business that has high ethical standards. After finishing an MBA in Finance, joining HSBC seemed like the perfect start to a career in commercial banking and I had no hesitation in accepting a place on the Resident Management Trainee Programme.
As an Associate Relationship Manager, I’m the primary contact for a portfolio of corporate customers looking for banking services. My customers come from a variety of sectors, and I’ve been able to understand the different needs of corporate banking clients.
There is scope to move around the business and the possibility of even working abroad. The opportunities to learn and grow are tremendous for any ambitious graduate.
I’m interested to explore other businesses and countries and to continue my development. Our Sustainability programme has inspired me to give something back to society. As part of the Management Trainee Programme, I was given the opportunity to experience various initiatives led by a former HSBC employee in afforestation, education and water harvesting. Education was of particular interest to me, and I am now funding the primary education of two girls in Gujarat.
