The UK Penultimate-Year Summer Internship Programme is for students looking to gain invaluable insight into banking with a leading global bank. The programme provides the exposure, hands-on experience and on-the-job training to gain a head start in your career. After completing your internship, you will have the opportunity to secure a place on our Graduate Programmes.
Who can apply?
To be considered for the programme, you will:
Apply now - July 2014 start
- Be a second-year student or a third-year student if you are taking a four-year course (any discipline is acceptable)
- Be expecting to gain at least a 2:1 honours degree
- Be available in July/August 2014
What to expect
Supported by experienced managers, colleagues and a wide network of diverse peers, you will be encouraged to take on responsibility and bring new ideas to the table. You will be valued as an individual and for the contribution you make.
Over the seven-week programme, your time will be spent in one of our branches or commercial centres, learning the skills to give our customers first-class service – we will do our best to find a location that is convenient for you. As part of the programme, you will have the opportunity to complete a personal project for your line manager. You will also be expected to work with other interns to deliver a fundraising project.
You can expect practical training that will complement your academic studies, embedding our values while growing your career. During the programme, you will be challenged to use your talents and academic knowledge to add value to the bank and improve your professional and personal skills.
You will be paid during your internship, but you may find the greatest benefit is the stepping stone it can provide to a rewarding full-time career at HSBC.
