The Singapore Global Banking Advisory Internship Programme is for students looking to gain valuable insight into investment banking with a leading global bank. The programme provides you exposure, hands-on experience and on-the-job training to gain a head start in your career after graduation. We also look to the programme to provide a pipeline of future talents.
Who can apply?
To be considered for the programme, you will:
- Be a penultimate-year student, ideally studying business administration, accountancy, banking and finance or economics
- Expect to achieve a minimum second class upper honours degree (4.0 out of 5.0) or cum laude (3.4 out of 4.0)
- Have an impressive leadership track record in school or extracurricular activities
- Have a keen interest in investment banking
Applications open in August/September for the following year's intake. There are two main intakes: summer (May to July) and winter (December to January). However, off-cycle internships can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
All offers are conditional upon the candidate obtaining and continuing to hold the requisite work visas, permits and/or approvals.

Over the 10- to 12-week programme, you’ll have exposure to a full suite of strategic advisory and financing products, including mergers and acquisitions advisory, privatisation, equity capital markets and equity-linked capital markets in South East Asia.
You can typically expect practical training that will complement your academic studies, embedding our values while growing your career. During the Internship Programme within Global Banking Advisory – the investment banking arm of the HSBC Group – you’ll be challenged to use your talents and academic knowledge to add value to the bank and improve your professional and personal skills.
