What to expect

We’re looking for the future leaders of Digital – and this starts with our internship. You will need to be forward-thinking, driven and perceptive, open to different ideas and cultures and enjoy being part of a team.

This internship is a minimum of eight weeks depending on location. Your time will be spent working in key areas such as product development, performance marketing, business innovation and analytics. We’ll encourage you to take on responsibility and bring new ideas as a valued part of the team. The internship will give you an introduction to the range and complexity of Retail Banking and Wealth Management and the growing importance of digital developments and solutions for our millions of customers.

You’ll be able to take part in our sustainability initiatives. Our volunteering programme, for example, could help you to develop new skills, while contributing to the communities in which we work.

You will be paid throughout your internship.

Learning and development

During the internship, you’ll develop critical skills in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment. After a short induction, you’ll move into a project that will have an impact on the bank’s success, and where you will benefit from on-the-job training.

You’ll have the support of a line manager who can offer advice on your career options. A buddy will be assigned to you, who you can share ideas with and who will give you guidance and support. You can also attend regular business and social events to complement your day-to-day role so that you can build your own network, which will prove invaluable in the future.

Career paths

The Digital Internship is the start of a successful international career in banking. Perform well and you will be given the opportunity to join the Digital Global Graduate Programme on completion of your studies.

Captains needed

We need Captains to get on board within Digital to support and innovate Retail Banking and Wealth Management; you will steer a team of people to help our customers achieve their hopes, dreams and ambitions. It’s something we are already proud to do for millions of customers every day. We’ll develop your leadership abilities and give you the skills you need to steer both your career and our future. We assess all applicants against our values and our global graduate capability framework. Information on our recruitment and selection process can be found on our hints and tips page.
