One of the main attractions of joining HSBC for me were the international opportunities. I have always wanted to work on an international level, so I was very excited to get the chance to attend a programme on international relationship management in London in April 2014. This allowed me to meet 16 colleagues from all over the world, increasing my network across the bank.
I was promoted to the role of International Relationship Manager (IRM) in HSBC Egypt’s Business Banking team. This has been the most remarkable experience of my career to date.
I am responsible for helping our customers to finance their ambitious plans for international growth, working with colleagues across the Group to meet their expectations and requirements. I also support my fellow IRMs in other countries when they have customers who want to do business in Egypt.
Every day brings new opportunities and things to learn. The main challenges in my job are developing an understanding of each country’s culture and tailoring the bank’s different products and services to meet each customer’s needs.
People are the key to success at HSBC. You are assessed fairly and recognised for your achievements.
