Being a more experienced student has been a positive factor at HSBC and I have been given leadership opportunities very quickly and on the first day of my branch rotation I was trusted to interact with customers and advise them.
Working in a variety of roles and rotations has been a great way to gain a good understanding of the bank. One of the most important things I learnt on the graduate programme was how to use my skills to benefit the community. I participate in events and leadership committees where I believe the time I volunteer makes a difference. It is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job and now I encourage my team to find something they passionately believe in too.
I studied foreign languages and international relations and also lived and worked abroad in several countries before studying for my degree, so the international aspect of HSBC was a huge draw for me.
