I’ve been interested in financial markets since I was young and joined HSBC ten years ago, working in Global Markets. I currently manage investment strategies for clients including insurance companies, mutual funds and small local banks.
I have learnt a lot while working in Mexico, mostly about the debt market, selling investment products in government and corporative debt. Our clients have confidence in us because we are always showing them ideas, giving feedback, taking advantage of the bank’s global research and expertise to give them the best advice and introductions.
Last year I worked with someone from the Middle East and North Africa region to learn more about its links to China which I found really interesting and I would now like to move outside Mexico and take advantage of the bank’s experience in financial markets in Asia, North America and Europe. I think the biggest revenues are going to be in Latin America and Asia and HSBC’s strength in that area means we have the opportunity to start cross-selling between those regions, taking advantage of the internationalisation of the RMB.
Outside of work I like running marathons and swimming and cycling. It is important time for me when I get to be by myself and I enjoy the exercise. I also like helping newer staff, sharing what I have learnt. HSBC is a great place to pick up and pass on knowledge.
