HSBC in the region
HSBC's North American businesses are located in the US, Canada and Bermuda. In the US, we operate as HSBC Bank USA, N.A., which is concentrated in New York state, and as HSBC Finance Corporation, a national consumer finance company based in Chicago, Illinois. HSBC Bank Canada and The Bank of Bermuda Limited have important franchises in their respective countries. In Canada, our major businesses - headquartered in Vancouver and Toronto - include HSBC Bank Canada, HSBC Global Asset Management and HSBC Finance Canada.
Sustainability in the region
Since 2008, corporate sustainability in North America has been managed by a central function which works across all business lines and relevant departments to drive the regional strategy. The function works alongside business units to integrate all aspects of sustainability into business units, including footprint management, risk in lending activities, and philanthropy.
