About Future First
Future First is a partnership between HSBC, SOS Children's Villages and local not-for-profit organisations working on the ground to make a difference to the lives of underprivileged children.  It was established in 2006 to offer education and life skills training to orphans, homeless children and children in care around the world.

A global programme with a local presence
Over the last five years, Future First has extended its reach to 49 of the 86 countries in which HSBC operates, and now has 314 projects underway. In this time, the programme has touched the lives of almost 500,000 children globally helping to:

  • Provide access to education, life skills and counselling to children who would typically fall outside of the local education system.
  • Build confident, self-sufficient communities via specialist programmes.
  • Connect our people HSBC employees worldwide are involved in Future First projects at a local level.

Investing in the future
In March 2011, HSBC renewed its commitment to Future First, with an extra US$15 million in funding to extend our flagship global education programme for another five years and support and support its extension into the African continent.
