HSBC Bank plc - Board changes

Dame Mary Marsh (62) has been appointed an independent non-executive Director of HSBC Bank plc with effect from 1 January 2009.

Dame Mary is Director of the Clore Social Leadership Programme. She is also a member of the National Council of the Learning and Skills Council and a Trustee of Young Enterprise. Before joining the Clore Social Leadership Programme in October 2008, she was Chief Executive of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) for eight years.

As announced in November, Charles-Henri Filippi (56), non-executive Chairman of HSBC France, is leaving the HSBC Group at the end of the year to pursue other interests in France. He has also resigned as a Director of HSBC Bank plc with effect from 31 December 2008.
