HSBC Private Bank came first in sixteen categories - and ranked in the top three across 74 others - in this year’s Euromoney 2004 annual Private Banking survey.
As well as being named best private bank for Trust Services globally, HSBC was voted the premier Islamic Banking Services provider in Switzerland, the UK and Western Europe, and was awarded in other categories including asset management and foreign exchange.
In the Asia section of the awards, the bank was first in four other high profile categories; for its private banking services in both Hong Kong and China, and for Family Office Services, Inheritance and Succession Planning, and Trust Services across the Asia region.
HSBC Private Bank and its private banking affiliates employ some 5,500 staff around the globe in more than 70 onshore and offshore locations. It provides a broad range of wealth advisory services, trusts and insurance in 23 locations and offers trust administration from 16 locations in three time zones.
Clive Bannister, Group General Manager and CEO of HSBC Private Bank, said: “In 2004, we set out our vision of becoming one of the best private banks in the world, with a global reputation for excellence.
“To receive this kind of international acclaim for our products and services is a measure of how hard we’re working to develop long-term ethical client relationships through a culture of integrity and high performance.”
