HSBC Bank USA has opened its first branch in New Jersey, as part of a planned expansion in the State.
The news of HSBC’s move into New Jersey comes as the first HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship tees off at the State’s Hamilton Farms Golf Club.
HSBC, which already has one of the largest branch networks in New York, aims to open another six branches across New Jersey in 2005, continuing its expansion next year by developing a range of services for both personal and business customers.
This year’s plans will add another 125 staff to the 1,300 people already employed in the bank’s New Jersey securities, mortgage, technology and Internet operations.
Martin Glynn, president and Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank USA, said he was excited to bring HSBC’s ‘mix of local knowledge and global reach’ to New Jersey. He added: "With our strong presence in Metro New York, New Jersey is a natural place for HSBC to continue its US expansion, and we look forward to serving the needs of individuals and businesses who live and work in the Garden state."
