HSBC in Hong Kong SAR scoops awards

HSBC in Hong Kong SAR has been named one of the territory's top companies in 2002, in a survey by a leading financial magazine in Asia.

Over 300 institutional investors and equity analysts took part in FinanceAsia magazine's 2002 survey, ranking Hong Kong companies on six counts. HSBC was voted the territory's top company in three areas - for its commitment to enhancing shareholder value, its commitment to corporate governance and for its investor relations. In the remaining three areas polled HSBC took second place (best financial management, best managed company and best CFO).

Hang Seng Bank, the Group's 62.14% owned subsidiary in Hong Kong, was also ranked among Hong Kong's top 10 companies in three categories - best managed company, commitment to enhancing shareholder value and best financial management.
