Emerging Markets Index

The quarterly HSBC Emerging Markets Index (HSBC EMI) is a market first: we've created a leading economic indicator for the world's emerging market economies, at a time when the rapid progress of the emerging market regions has never been more closely connected, or important, to the development of the global economy.

The HSBC EMI is the first report provided by one organisation that has first exclusive access to Markit PMI data for all the world's emerging markets. In each quarterly report, HSBC economists provide commentary on what the global data mean for the relevant markets and those that are commercially and culturally connected to them, providing a unique global overview of the key macro economic, social and political trends and themes that will influence the development of the world's emerging economies.
