Philip Poole, Global Head of Macro and Investment Strategy, HSBC
Philip joined HSBC Global Asset Management as Global Head of Macro and Investment Strategy in July 2010. Prior to that he was Chief Emerging Markets Economist and Head of Global Emerging Markets Research for HSBC Global Markets, having joined the group in June 2004. While in Global Markets he spent his time writing on emerging market economies and developed multi-asset class, cross regional research products for the Group's corporate and institutional clients. Prior to joining HSBC, Philip was Head of Emerging Markets Fixed Income Research and Chief Emerging Markets Economist for ING/ING Barings where he was voted top strategist for EMEA markets (Reuters, Global Investor and Institutional Investor) and top regional economist (Institutional Investor, Global Investor and Greenwich). Before joining ING, Philip was Senior Emerging Markets Economist at Barclays where he worked on a broad range of sovereign issues.
