I joined HSBC straight after my MBA in India and, as is the case with most MBA graduates in finance, the dream really is to work for a top global bank which can give you the right kind of opportunities and challenges early on in your career - and HSBC fit the bill perfectly.
My first role was in commercial banking, and it was truly great because I was managing our relationships with several international businesses and the high point, really, was that were able to help them grow locally and, at the same time, join up their businesses world-wide.
Whichever part of the bank you work for, the focus is really on the customer. When you visit an HSBC branch, be it in the UK, Hong Kong or India, the way the staff treat you, the values that they share, it is all very consistent. So, whether you're an employee or a customer, you feel at home immediately.
For anyone looking for an exciting career with a whole lot of interesting opportunities, I think the challenges and exposure that HSBC offers you is unlimited. And you can literally go places, given the global presence of the bank.
