I chose to join HSBC at this point in my career because I'd worked for a lot of smaller firms - different kinds of organisations in different parts of the world - and I really thought that HSBC offers the size and the scale, and the kinds of opportunities, that I wanted for my career right now.
HSBC has been a great place for me to work as a mum - the flexible working practices have really enabled me to get my job done the way I want to do it and still have plenty of time to spend with my son.
HSBC is a really large organisation with people everywhere, lots of different business lines and functions. I actually helped start an employee network called Balance for gender balance which brought together people from all different parts of the organisation to work towards a common goal. And it really helped me feel like I was part of a bigger team.
