About International Management
A world class career.
As the world's local bank, HSBC needs a group of highly talented, internationally mobile managers capable of working in any part of our business, in any location. Our International Managers (IMs) have helped to shape the HSBC Group's development ever since we were established in 1865 and are a pivotal part of our future leadership.

We currently have approximately 380 IMs working across our customer groups and in 57 of the 86 countries and territories in which we operate, and are looking to significantly increase that number over the next few years.
An IM's career is built up by a range of generalist assignments, offering exposure across our business lines. You can expect to be given a new assignment, in a new country and new area of the Group regularly throughout your career. This will initially be approximately every 18 months, increasing to every 24 - 36 months as your career progresses.
We are now looking for world class individuals to join us in 2010 and help take International Management into the future. Whether you are seeking your first role after university, a new challenge after completing an MBA or your next step professionally, International Management is a unique opportunity to build your skills and experiences into a world class career. There is nothing else quite like it.

| International Management does not appeal to everyone. If you wish to live in one country or to specialise in a particular area of banking, it is not for you. We expose our IMs to a wide range of locations in both developed and emerging economies to broaden their understanding. We also deliberately expose them to different business lines and customer groups to build their general management skills. If you are excited by the idea of developing a generalist and global management career in financial services, this cultural and business diversity makes International Management the most extraordinary banking experience available. |
